The dreaded organize the workspace slash office slash studio hour...day....okay week...

So, since my office/studio looks something like this,

(okay, obviously not what my studio really looks like. Mine's more colorful - me being and artist and all)

and I'd rather it be closer to something like this but with maybe a few straggly messy bits hanging on:

(img from lifehacker - who obviously would shrivel and die in my workspace)

I've decided that I need to do some serious organizing and cleaning.

Serious organizing and cleaning usually means that first I have to contemplate the actual act of the organizing and cleaning, since, being an arteest with such a creative mind, I must not think of such scary things but only rainbows and glitter and abstract trees that grow painted dinosaur eggs. (note to self: next painting subject.)

And of course there's the whole issue of actually being motivated enough to go through stacks of what-the-heck-are-these and why-do-I-have-a-pile-of-this and attack enormous dust bunny colonies with pretty-smelling cleaning spray stuff and a trusty old rag.

Soooo.... I've contemplated quite a bit and I suppose I have maybe a few ounces of motivation. Time to get started on this project!

  1. I saw a rainbow tonight and it was very pretty. Hopefully this blog post and the rainbow will inspire me to clean up my workspace. Looking around my space, that looks NOTHING like lifehacker's space I understand wanting to avoid cleaning. :)

    1. Haha I know what you mean- I really can't function with too much neatness. Gotta have at least one pile of random something to break up the boring! ;)

  2. It's a constant struggle with me. The minute I start on a project...mayhem, but a tidy studio gets my juices flowing. Looking forward to seeing your space....I can relate. :)Pam
