Quite a bit has happened since I last reported from my little garden! I've been battling the dogs, who seem to enjoy running through my plants, and my own forgetfulness (I often realize almost too late that its "time to water")
So far the big producers are my cabbage plants, who are just now in the beginning stages of creating nice cabbage "heads". Until then, I have been and will continue to harvest and use the pretty, dark green outer leaves.
(That's also some fennel fronds as well as some thyme, also from the garden!)
I've really enjoyed heading out my back door to harvest what will become part of dinner! I've made dishes such as stir fry with cabbage
And cabbage rolls (I used quinoa instead of rice for a twist!)
I love the deep, bright green color of this cabbage, even when it's cooked. I get the sense that I'm eating really healthy when I see that!
Soon to be on my table, hopefully, are grape tomatoes and either yellow or red bell peppers... Yes, I did forget which color I planted, ha ha! Right now I have blooms and one lone little green tomato. Go little tomato, go!
